HVAC Condensate Line

I was previously adding a capful of bleach to my condensate line but am now reading that's not a good idea. Lots of recommendations to use distilled vinegar, though the methods vary from one video to the next.

What I am seeing most is one cup of vinegar down the line, wait 30 minutes, then 1 Gallon of water.

Do I need to have the unit off the entire time I'm doing this? I'm in Texas and it's hot right now!

Carpenter Ants?

There is a retaining wall between my yard and my neighbor's. Last year, we decided to dig out all the weeds, add some good soil, plant some natives and then mulched.

Today, I went to add a new plant and as I was digging, large ants began to emerge. Are these carpenter ants?

How concerned should I be? The wall is about 20 feet from my home.

French Drain Terminal

We are installing a French drain that runs from the back yard to the front of the house. We will be removing all the grass and installing river rock. Should the terminal be at the sidewalk or a few feet away? I'm guessing away so it doesn't affect the sidewalk.

Is the best method to create a deeper hole at the end to fill with crushed gravel, elbow joint to the PVC pipe with holes on the bottom and a pop up valve level with the river rock at the surface?

Landscaping for erosion prevention

I have a two-story home with no gutters and the water dripping from the roof has started to create a small trench around the house. I can't afford gutters right now, so landscapers suggested putting in river rocks. I like the idea, but also want to add some plants. Are there any landscaping apps that are free/reasonably priced do that I can tinker with designs?

This is the main area I want to tackle. So far, I've purchased two Autumn sage (lipstick salvia), one plumbago, two pink skullcaps, 4 silvery sunproof liriopes and 2 frog fruit plants for ground cover.

Dealership recommended services on used 2019 Kona

We recently purchased a 2019 Kona with 99,700 miles. The Carfax shows pretty regular oil changes but nothing else about routine maintenance. This is what they are recommending.

We asked them to change out the transmission fluid because everything I read says you should let the dealership handle that.

My question is, besides the engine tune up, how many of these others are necessary right away? And is it okay to get it done at another car shop?

Coat of new door installation

What would you choose?

I have a 16x7 garage door that needs to be replaced.

The quotes I've gotten from 3 local garage door companies have ranged from $3500 to $4500 for a sandwich door with new belt drive opener. The R values range from 6 to 17 in the 3 quotes I got.

I used Home Depot's garage door design system and selected an R18 sandwich door with a smart belt drive lift and they quoted $2400 with install.
