Hi everyone! I’m hoping to connect with some Chester locals or history buffs.

​My grandmother grew up in Chester and met my grandfather while he was stationed with the US Air Force nearby. They married in Chester, and she eventually moved to the States with him. I’ve always been incredibly proud of her British roots, and after visiting Chester in 2016, a piece of my heart definitely stayed there.

​She sadly passed away some years ago, and I only wish I would have inquired more about her personal experience of growing up and getting married there. I’m incredibly lucky to have a collection of photos and mementos she cherished from her life there.

​I would love to connect with anyone local who can share stories about Chester's culture, history, or even help me identify some of the locations in her old photos.

After filing for a settlement does it take a lot of upkeep and attention in order to receive anything if you've done everything correctly? Or do you just file and wait?

I've been keeping up with this thread as well as trying to simplify my understanding of the correct process on how all of this works. Can anyone explain to their best knowledge and experience on how they go about starting a claim?

Is there a website that you can keep checking to see what settlements are current to sign up for and what info from you that they require? Is there a way to filter through the settlements like... (State, Age, proof of purchase etc?)
