I purchased this beauty on Sunday. It is a 2021 with 16,700 miles. I wish I had found a 2 door model, but I was mainly looking for a manual and this is the first one that came up at a reasonable price (way cheaper than anything offered by Carvana or Carmax). The extra doors will come in handy for hauling my Labrador.

I blacked out the door handles and the gas cap. Next mod is getting rid of the chrome beltline and adding racing stripes.

Love the interior.

Ford Blue Advantage Question

Quick question for those who know the how Ford works.

I saw a car I liked advertised as a Ford Blue Advantage model. I drove two hours to the Ford dealer to test drive the car -- I was ready to buy it. The car is a 2021 model with 17,000 miles. On the test drive I heard a noise coming from the back. I stopped and the salesperson and I looked in cargo area but there was nothing lose there. It made the noise when we hit a rough patch of road.

We drove back to the dealership and the guy wanted to talk numbers, but I told him that I wanted to discuss the noise first. I asked him about the 14 day money back part of the Ford Blue Advantage program. He said that this is something that they didn't do anymore. I mentioned it was part of the program. He said that his was not a participating dealer. I told him that I would buy the car if they fixed the problem (which according him to him was nothing serious). He said, "buy the car and we will fix the problem". I told him that if it was not serious then it would be a piece of cake to fix the problem.

He got mad and told me that the car had a 90 warranty and that they would fix the problem if it was serious. I insisted on the problem being fixed before the purchase and he got more mad, so I left.

The next day I talked to the used car manager today and he said that there is nothing wrong with the car. His guy supposedly looked at it and he thinks that it is a wear and tear issue inside the cabin.

I then asked him if the car is Blue Advantage certified. He said that it was. I asked him if the 90 day Ford Blue Advantage warranty applied to the car. He said that it did. I finally asked if the 14 day money back guarantee was valid...and he said that his dealership opted out of that 6 months ago.

I like the car, but I don't know if I can trust these people. According to what people said in another thread, you can't opt out of parts of the program. If they lied about the money back part, perhaps they are lying about the condition of the car.

I would like to know what you guys think.

Ford Blue Advantage - Part II

So I told my tale here:

So the question is, can a dealer advertise a car as a Ford Blue Advantage certified vehicle and not be a participating dealer?

Should I call the manager to see if he can fix the issue and/or perhaps offer the money back guarantee, or will I get the run around from him too?

I'm thinking of buying a manual Mini Cooper S as fun second car.

I narrowed it down to two cars. One is a 2015 with 60,000 miles and the other one is a 2017 with 71,000 miles. Both were owned by only one owner and all the services of both cars were done regularly at a Mini dealership. Both cars have a manual transmission. Neither one has any upgrades (I think the 2015 has a bigger infotainment screen).

Which one would you guys chose? Is there anything in a 2015 that Mini fixed by 2017? Will 10,000 make a huge difference? Both cars would cost about the same.

Anything else I should be aware of?

I test drove a 500 Pop today and the salesperson informed me that the car had been towed behind a camper.

The car has low milage, but do I need to add all the miles from the towing (if I knew what they were)? I know that the engine did not have to work all those miles, but what kind of wear and tear did it suffer from being towed?

They are asking $7,999 (used car lot). Is this a good deal?

The car has low miles, but it is 10 years old. Should I be in the lookout for anything?

I can't seem to find an Abarth at a good price. There are a bunch of 500 Pop in my area.

I'm looking for a manual. Will the Pop bore me after a while?
