My baby keeps biting while feeding

So over the past couple days my 10 month old has started biting down at the start of feeding and smiling at me. He will giggle when I react. I’ve started promptly pulling away. He will cry and I will offer my breast again. As soon as I let him have it again he will bite only seconds later.
The last couple feeds he hasn’t even laughed he just gets upset when he bites as he knows I will pull away. I only feed on one side and my nipple has gotten raw and bloody.
It’s just getting a bit stressful and frustrating for both of us. I think he’s teething but even with teething gel he’s still biting. He has recently been sick so I’m unsure if it’s also a comfort thing.
And advice would be appreciated.
I want my son to maintain comfort when feeding but he can probably now feel how tense I am anticipating him to bite down on me 😅 not fun when he has teeth!
