My daughter (almost 10) has a really good mix of friends and they all seem to blend together wonderfully. She is sporty but some friends are definitely artsy and already have an “artsy” clothing style. Some are super smart and into obscure topics (like really into weird diseases).

I know it is totally normal to kind of switch your behavior depending on who you are around, but I’m a little worried she is losing who she is and molding herself depending on the group dynamic at any given time. How much of this normal just trying to fit in vs worrisome?

And they have all adopted this super whiny/valley girl tone they use sometimes with each other, it drives me absolutely insane. I want to shout “stop talking like that you sound like and idiot” but obviously can’t do that 🙃.

Anyone else have similar experiences?

We are somewhat new to the club soccer thing in today's world. My husband and I both played club soccer growing up and he played D2 college, so we understand the sport and clubs and all of that.

We are navigating a potential club change for our 9 year old due to some club issues/coaching issues etc. Some of the parents are losing their minds over the club potentially losing their ECNL status, discussing MLS Next, NPL etc. I don't truly understand the difference between all of them, and how they work and besides for college recruiting what their true purpose is. So can someone explain it like I'm total newbie?
