Trans-pecos Rat Snake

This big guy was stretched across one of the few paved roads within Big Bend National Park. There were not many visitors to the park this day, but I didn't want to risk this guy getting run over. It never moved even as I moved my vehicle closer. So, I moved it off of the road and took a few pics. It was quite docile.

Kirk Hammitt of Metallica with his Ouija guitar

This is an old photograph that I finally processed. It is from 2009 in Dallas. The reason I never processed it originally was because there was the shadow of hand in the foreground obscuring part of the guitar below the hand as well as part of the hand. I removed the offending shadowed hand.

Micheal Romeo of Symphony X

This pic is almost 15 years old! With some new tricks I've learned over the years I was able to make it usable in my eyes. The original was very dark with a red color cast. Photoshop's AI helped with the lighting. No changes were made to body position, facial features or expressions. I messed around with shadows and color balance.

BTW, if you do not know Symphony X, they are an awesome progressive metal band on they symphonic side as the name would suggest. They haven't put an album out in quite some time. I hope that changes soon.

Cooper's Hawk - Ellis County, Texas

I always leave a brush pile in my backyard for birds and other animals as a shelter, especially in winter. However, other animals like snakes and birds of prey figure this out. In these shots, a Cooper's was chasing a couple of white-crowned sparrows that had sought protection from the hawk. I was lucky enough to have glanced outside just in time to see this. The hawk never got its prey.
