Pedal and Amp Compression Question

This is sort of a follow up to my last post. I realized my pedal circuit had not so great sustain, harmonics or palm mutes. Not gone just quieter/weaker. I was thinking it was a problem with my circuit (honestly there probably are still things that can be fixed but then I tested my amp's built in distortion settings (idk why I didn't think to do this before). I have a Yamaha THR10ii and I tested both the HI Gain and Special settings and even messed around with EQ and realized...they don't have great PM or harmonics either unless you turn on the amp's compressor. So really my question is if I want the user to have a universal experience regardless of their amp without them needing any additional pedals, would it make sense to also then give the pedal built in compression? Again sounds kinda dumb I know but I figured it stands to reason if an amp with pre built settings is giving me roughly the same issues as my pedal then maybe the pedal isn't the problem.

Thank you!

Design Help

Hello. This is starting to drive me crazy. It distorts which is good, but the harmonics (like pinch harmonics for example) sounds weak and plucky. Almost as if they are kind of clean. Palm mutes are a little weak as well but were slightly more pronounced after I swapped my volume pot to a 500k. Originally I had a 10k which I hadn't realized forms a divider with the fixed 10K (R5) cutting the signal almost in half. The MAX gain (Rg branch is at it's lowest or when the pot is all the way down) should be about 1 + 1M/(5.1k+1/jw0.047E-6) so close to 196x ish (obviously varies slightly based on frequency due to C3). I'm decently sure my input impedance is plenty high enough. You can ignore the LED part of the circuit, that is just for a visual to connect to a 3PDT switch once the sound is optimal. It also doesn't have super great sustain. Not horrible but not super great (again mostly with the PH, PM, etc). Is 196x too low? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated or any criticism as well. I've only just finished my sophomore year of EE and we've never done actual design work or anything audio related so most of this I've had to figure out on my own through a lot of trial and error.

Dealing with Reverse Homesickness Back Home from College

Hello. Unsure if this is the right subreddit but for reference I am a college student home for the summer after finishing up my second year. Ever since freshman year ended I always get reverse homesickness and literally dread coming home. I feel stuck and trapped at home and unsure of what to do. Usually, I’ll probably at least try to stay busy with work a lot and that sort of helps. Honestly may have become a bit of a workaholic in the process. Family stuff (for example relationships, situations, etc) is…complicated so I won’t be going into all that but it definitely plays a big role. I don’t really have any friends here back home so that’s not helping either. All of my usual things I’d do at home by myself honestly just don’t really do much or feel fun anymore. Idk if this is like a common thing but to be blunt, I really hate being back. Has anyone dealt with this before and what helps? I really appreciate any and all advice.
