I’m 19 and am majoring in biomedical science. For years, I’ve wanted to get a reduction due to my history of back pain and struggle to reduce them on my own. I unfortunately fell victim to the freshman 15™️ and want to lose that weight before next school year when I have access to a kitchen and can actually track what’s going into my body.
The problem is, while I can lose 25lbs healthily in about 4 months (I’ve done it before with a professional in the field, and I’m super proud of it since I’ve been overweight most of my life!), that leaves very little time to get the reduction and recover in time for school next year. I’m kind of thinking to get it done during one of my breaks, but I’m also concerned that it could hinder studying for finals.
I know some people will probably go “you’re too young to be thinking about it”, so that’s why I came here since I was less likely to get that. Google is saying about 6-8 weeks recovery. My size has always had a big impact on my self image, and even when I felt confident in my shape at my lowest weight last year, my breasts still were too big for physical and mental comfort.
Additionally, my girlfriend and I want to have kids someday, and I absolutely want to be pregnant and breastfeed (and not lose sensation in the area).
If any of you have gotten a reduction, how did you feel after it? If you had kids, were you still able to breastfeed and feel in the area? One of the reasons I think getting it done early is specifically since I won’t be having kids before 30 due to the desire to have full financial stability and a job (I’m planning to do neuropathology).
Please tell me if this is the wrong place to post. I’m just hoping to find an answer. I’m getting set up with a doctor soon since we just moved and need to switch to someone in state.
TL;DR: I want a reduction but want to hear from others if they could still feel and have sensation in the area
