I really appreciate how liberally Amex increases credit limits!

I’m 19, but I got my first credit card right when I turned 18. I have the Amex Everyday Cash and I’ve never missed a payment. I just got approved for an $18,000 CL and I just gotta say that I appreciate how willing Amex is to give me a higher limit. I’ll never use that much in a month, but I like being able to spend everything on one card and not worry about going over my limit. The Capital One Savor is my favorite card because of rewards, but Amex is definitely my second favorite.

I’m curious if this has been anyone else’s experience with Amex?

I really love how Amex is so liberal with their CLIs

I’m 19, but I’ve had a CC since I turned 18. I’ve never missed a payment and Amex just increased my limit to $18,000. I really appreciate how willing they are to regularly and liberally increase my limit as long as I pay in full every month.

There’s no way I’ll use the full $18,000 but I like the fact that I can use my credit card like a debit (ie: buying everything I need for that month on it) without worrying about going over the limit.

Did anyone get a notification for the Cal Poly AI Summer Camp?

Basically what the title says. I know they said notifications would go out yesterday at 11:59pm, but I’m dubious that they were able to send them out that quickly since the application only closed 5 days ago.

I didn’t get an email one way or the other, but I could’ve just been rejected. So, did anyone get an acceptance email last night for this program?

Do UCs care if students take a lower course load (11 units) when working fully time at CC?

I just got offered a paid internship in my field and I really want to take the position, but in order to make it work and maintain my GPA I would need to cut back my courseload (down to 11 units, possibly lower). I would still get all of my major requirements done by the time I wanna transfer, but I’d be below full-time for AT LEAST one and maybe two semesters. Will UCLA and Berkeley care?

I’m a community college student and I work in fast food. I don’t make a lot of money, but I am trying to learn to save. The thing is, I can’t stop spending money. Every month I spend more than I have on food, hair products, etc. I don’t know how to get better at saving. I have $6,500 saved in one year of community college, but I overspent my credit card and might need to take some money out of that to avoid any debt. I’m so disappointed in myself, but I don’t know how to get better at it.

I go to SMC and UCLA transfer admissions just told the director of our scholars program today that they got 9% MORE transfer applicants this year than last year. Normal increase is ~2-3% increase every year. THAT IS INSANE!

If you got rejected this year, just know they had to reject wayyyyy more applicants than usual cause of the increase in overall applications, it’s not on you guys.

I’m applying for transfer in Fall 2027 and I am becoming VERY stressed about the consistent increase in UCLA transfer applicants every year. It just keeps getting more and more competitive.

How are other Fall 2027 transfers feeling? What do you guys think?
