Update post. A2780 MBP M2 Pro 16" display issue

About a week ago these visual issues have started, which I have assumed were linked to the flex cable that goes into the display assembly itself, making it impossible to fix.

The issue is triggered either by pressing the plastic bottom bezel at the left corner, or by moving the orientation of the screen.

I put my laptop for sale on a local marketplace, and someone called today saying the same happened to his 16" M1 Pro. He told me a repair shop has successfully repaired it by replacing a ribbon cable hidden behind the said plastic bezel strip, and the repair cost him very little money.

Does anyone have any idea about what exactly could've went bad so I can explain it to technicians that would attempt a repair for the laptop?

So far, I've just been quoted a full display assembly replacement costing from 800 to 1000€, which isn't an option. Thanks

Is my screen failing?

Hi, about 25 minutes ago I opened the laptop's lid (16" M2 Pro), everything seemed completely normal, then all of a sudden some horizontal black lines appeared in one particular part of the screen (upper left), a few seconds later (4-7s) they disappeared > It looked like this. I got scared and read about T-CON boards failing, the flex cable, or the entire screen itself failing, seems like most of these problems are hardware, and not software, which is... worrying.

A few minutes later after restarting the laptop I was gently opening and closing the lid to see if that caused it in any way, at one point I was moving the lid from the left part of the screen lid, and the screen started flickering in the same approximate area of where those lines appeared, went on for around 10 seconds, then disappeared like nothing happened. Typing this post from my MacBook at work worried that a repair would cost me more than half of the laptop's own cost.

Anyone had this happen to them? Is there a chance this can just go away?

P.S. while technically a lot of these problems are caused by overheating, the laptop didn't seem to have any heat generation problems today, it stays at a reasonable. and comfortable point that should not do any damage in any circumstances. Thanks.

Small update - It's working completely fine now and I can't replicate the issue. Any possibility this was just a one-time case?
