Smart Socks Recommends[bc]

I’ve been seeing conflicting information about the Owlet sock. Some people claim you can see live stats on your baby, while others say you can’t. I feel like I can’t get an accurate answer on this as I everything gets mixed in with what’s available in the states. I’m curious to know if anyone has experience with this sock. I currently have the Eufy sock, but it seems to pick up a low heart rate when the sock isn’t on properly and loses contact instead of sending a notification. This is frustrating and causing me anxiety.

Eufy Help

I was wondering if anybody had any tips on lining up your nipple into the flange with the eufy I have the eufy e 20s and when I can get my nipple in line perfectly in there, I get the same if not better output as my spectra, but I can’t consistently do it for some reason and I’ve tried like latching them on and like bending over to make sure it’s lined up and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t so I was just wondering if anybody has some tips to make it a little bit more consistent I do have larger boobs and flat nipples so I’m not sure if that makes it a little bit more difficult but any advice is greatly appreciated!

Adding in formula

I exclusively pump for my 10-week-old baby, but after a doctor’s visit last week, she recommended I increase her daily milk intake to help her gain weight faster. However, I was unable to produce enough milk as I was already providing enough for her needs. So I added formula and chose the Kendamil RTF. She seemed fine on it,she had around 150-200 millilitres daily for about 3 days.

However, on the second and third days, she stopped pooping, which I know is normal for breastfeed and formula-fed babies but yesterday she was in pain so I used a Windi to help her, and then she pooped on her own last night. This morning, she was in pain again, so I used a Windi once more, and this time, the poop was very mucusy.

Since then, I’ve been able to increase my milk supply to the point where I no longer need to add formula. It’s been almost 48 hours since she last had any formula. I also have dairy, and she’s never had any reaction to my milk so I am not sure if it’s possible the formula triggered something or would just be a normal reaction to adding in formula?

I’m curious if any other parents here have experienced a similar situation. Should her stool return to normal? Or if you have tried this formula and had a similar reaction with your baby?

Constipation when starting formula

My baby is 10 weeks old and was breastfed for nine weeks. The doctor wanted her to eat more, but I wasn’t producing enough, so we added in some Kendamil RTF formula, about one bottle a day. Around the 2-3rd day of introducing formula, she stopped pooping. She normally poops every diaper change, so I was worried it was the formula. I started adding more pumps and was able to increase my supply, but she went 24 hours without pooping and woke up yesterday seemingly hurting. I used a Windi and was able to get some out of her. It was like peanut butter. Later that day, she was able to get poop out herself, but this morning she woke up again in pain. I used the Windi on her, and her poop is really mucusy.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue with this formula or if it’s a common problem when adding formula. It’s almost been 48 hours since she last had the formula, but I don’t know how long it takes to leave her system. I also want to know if this sounds like a milk allergy. I eat dairy, and she’s never had a reaction to my milk. Would introducing formula have triggered an allergy or sensitivity?

Managing pumping while husband is working

My husband works one week on and one week off, doing 12-hour shifts when he’s working. During those weeks, I find it really hard to manage pumping, feeding, changing, and everything else with my baby on my own, especially because I can’t seem to find the time to pump consistently. I sometimes end up going 4+ hours between pumping sessions, and I feel like my supply has been dipping because of it.

I was wondering if anyone has advice for getting through this stage until she’s a little older and more independent. She’s 9 weeks old, and I really don’t want to switch to combo feeding, but I’m worried I won’t be able to keep up. It feels like every time I try to pump, she starts crying or getting fussy, even if I’ve already fed and changed her beforehand. I’m just not sure what to do.

also, if anybody has any advice on pump wipes, perhaps maybe that would help as I also feel overwhelmed with the cleaning parts because in my head I feel like there would be residue that would get into the breast milk, but I’m not exactly sure on how that works
