What’s this sub’s opinion on Suede?

They seem generally well-liked. Every now and then I come across someone who really hates them.

Who remembers that very niche brand of British post-hardcore/pop punk music from the early to mid 2010s?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the bands from this era recently: Mallory Knox, You Me at Six, Deaf Havana, Fightstar, Lower Than Atlantis, Kids in Glass Houses, Don Broco, Young Guns, We are the Ocean.

These bands were all pretty big (and quite enjoyable) over a very specific time period, but this style of post-hardcore has really seemed to fizzle out in the 2020s. Most of these bands have either broken up or significantly shifted their style of music, so it’s probably a style we’ll never hear from again.

So the purpose of this thread is to hear from you guys - what are your thoughts/opinions on this subgenre? What were your best experiences with it? Who were/are your favorite bands from this era, and are they still making music today?

Re: I hate music!

Hey guys! I know I’ve been saying I hate music now, but I listened to TPAB last night and I must say… I love ALL music now!! Corey Feldman, Lil Xan, it all sounds magical after my ears were blessed with TPAB.

And hot take, this album is underrated!!

I hate music!

Have you seen this guy before? Hot take, he makes me hate music! In fact, I stopped listening to any type of music all together because of him! Now I just stare at brick walls trying to forget this guy’s existence.

Anyone else feel the same?

Bands/Artists You Could Never Get Into?

I’m talking widely acclaimed artists with large fanbases. Coheed & Cambria come to mind for me personally.

I can’t really defend their newer albums, but Sundowning was a solid debut with a couple of great tracks. It felt a lot more balanced stylistically, and it’s kind of a shame their genre blending got so much clunkier over time.
