How do I figure out what to sell?

I did my first con as an artist a few months ago. I didn't get a bunch of sales, but I learned a lot. One of the things I learned was to balance interests with what's popular. And currently, I'm trying to decide what I want to do: characters, series, etc. Cuz not only do I want to choose what'll sell and what I'm into, but I also have to be able to DRAW the characters, and for me that means simplifying them into my style. Not only that, but I have to design them as prints, stickers, buttons, or anything else I may feel like selling. And me personally, I'm a bit of a slow artist, so if I'm con prepping, I'll need to get them done in a decent timeframe. I made a list of stuff, but I'm having trouble deciding.

I'll leave my current list and examples of my art

I'm trying to Apply for an indie project but IDK what I'm doing. HELP?

Hi, first-time posting on Reddit bare with me.

I'm trying to apply for a rough 2D animator position on an indie series, and while filling out the application, I realized 2 things: 1. I don't have a lot of finished animations for my portfolio. And 2. they asked what my preferred rate was, but I have no idea how to respond to it. See, on top of not having a lot of experience generally, I also still live with my parent and siblings; I don't have a job/ consistant income(hoping to change that soon) and, as such, don't have any rent or bills to pay besides subscriptions. So, in my head, I don't need that much money, but I also don't want to sell myself short in case my situation changes and because I value my art and my time. But I worry I don't have the skill or experience to ask for so much.

I'm completely shooting in the dark here. I've never applied to a project like this, and just looking for some guidance or tips here.

TLDR; What should my rate be? And should I even bother applying with little to no experience?
