Working hard doesn’t pay off
You know what? I’m a contractor based in Latin America. I can say that working remotely would be wonders for some people here (it was for me) until they decided to move me to another department. Let’s say they aren’t paying me “badly” but no as much as I would like. Then, why do I say working hard doesn’t pay off? Well, hear me out.
I never thought this was true, I thought “if I stand out at my job they can give me a better position” wrong. They ofc gave me another position but with more work to do and the same payment, is it my fault?
You know, in my previous position I was chill all day long, now a coworker took my place, I’m sure she’s having a nice time. It was so simple, maybe because I made it seem simple they took note of that and decided to throw me at this other place? (I’m sure hell looks like this).
The new position is so painful, you don’t have idea. You have to figure out what customers want, they ask what they want. Yes, at least I don’t make phone calls, but there are deadlines to meet. The worst part about it it’s that there are no reliable workflows, you always end up doing something completely different from what it was stated before.
I think I’m gonna get fired in the next couple of months, I’m not keeping up tbh. And I think I could keep up, do I want though? Not really, I feel like I’m wasting my time and I’m not building my career.
Thanks for reading my rant.
