My AI apps feel like AI wrappers disguised as apps. How do I fix that?

I’m building an AI app builder called Deplo, but I’m running into a problem.

A lot of the apps it creates feel like basic AI wrappers. User enters something, AI replies, done. Technically it works, but it doesn’t feel like a real product or workflow tool.

I want the apps to feel more useful and specific, not just “ChatGPT in a box.”

I have tried improving the UI over and over to make it feel more professional or more "wow", but it just does not work.

How do you turn an AI wrapper into something that actually feels like a useful app?

Blunt feedback needed on my SaaS

I’m building Deplo, a tool that turns plain-English ideas into small working AI micro-apps.

The idea is that instead of rebuilding the same app structure every time, users can describe a tool idea and get a working app with inputs, output formatting, history, copy/refine buttons, and deployable structure.

I have been thinking:

  • Does this feel like a real micro-SaaS or just a fun demo?
  • What would make people come back after the first generated app?
  • Should this be priced around unlimited apps, credits, or deploy/custom domain features?

Beta is free: deplo.pro

“AI app builder” is too broad. Is workflow-to-tool a better angle?

I posted my first beta for Deplo, an AI app builder that turns plain-English ideas into small working apps.

A few people pointed out that the stronger pain is not “I want to build anything,” but:

“I keep rebuilding the same boring app shell for repeatable workflows.”

The idea would be:

Pick a workflow → customize inputs → generate a usable micro-app with output formatting, history, refine/copy buttons, and a deployable structure.

Looking for blunt feedback (There is a built in feedback column on the app itself)

I built a tool that turns plain-English ideas into working AI apps. Is this actually useful or just a cool demo?

I’ve been building Deplo, a tool that turns plain-English ideas into small working AI apps.

The idea is:

You describe an app in plain English, choose a style, and Deplo generates a usable micro-app with inputs, output formatting, history, copy/refine buttons, and different result views.

Does this feel actually useful, or does it feel like a cool demo people would try once and never come back to?

I’d really appreciate blunt feedback on the whole app:

Built my first SaaS, looking for feedback.

I’ve been building Deplo, a tool that turns plain-English ideas into small AI micro-apps.

Instead of starting from a blank repo or prompting an AI for random code snippets, you describe the tool you want, pick a style, and Deplo generates a working app with inputs, output formatting, history, and a deployable structure.

I’m launching it in beta and I’m mainly looking for feedback, not trying to sell anything yet.

  1. Are the apps too basic?
  2. Would you use this more then once?
  3. Is anything too complicated for a user?

Any brutal feedback is appreciated. I would rather know what feels weak now than polish the wrong thing for months.

I have incorporated a feedback form directly on the app: https://www.deplo.pro/feedback
