There is a guy at work who I would catch staring at me regularly… He would always say on rare occasions things like you smell nice, and asked offhand if I would ever date a coworker? To which I said no and he mumbled something along the lines of he didn’t plan to work there long… at the same time there is a lot of gossip at my work and he is apparently in an unpleasant long term relationship. he has also mentioned to me regularly about his girlfriend… and also partakes in spreading gossip and rumors about me and others… any idea on wth is going on with this guy?

I’ll start off by saying my employer overall is pretty good and pays decent for our area so I don’t really want to find a new career. My issue is that the employees and lower level management are very catty, gossip constantly, and spread rumors that are very disparaging… Does anyone have advice on how I can get past the poor morale and toxic coworkers? I enjoy my office job but the people are making this truly difficult to keep working here… TIA!
