Almost 4000 years ago (1850 BC) the vast Labyrinth at Hawara was constructed. It was described as a vast 3,000-chamber maze. In 450 BC, Herodotus visited the site and described it as far more impressive than even the pyramids.
Around 3,600 years ago (1700–1600 BC), the Minoan settlement Akrotiri (modern day Santorini) - featured personal household baths with individual bathtubs connected to a dual plumbing system supplying both hot (geothermal) and cold running water.
