July is bringing a few changes to the page!

First, I'm going to make a real effort to watch and review shorts that are different from the rest. There are so many stories that feel like the exact same plot told over and over again, and honestly... it's getting old. I want to shine a light on shorts that aren't getting as much attention. Let me know if you'd still like me to post links for the ones I don't review or the ones that just don't hold my attention long enough to review.

The second change is a name change. Rate. Skip. LKS** is becoming Rate. Skip. Review. I'll still include links when needed—they just won't be the main focus anymore.

The third change (which actually started in June) is that CandyJar is getting its own series: CandyJar Special. With so many easier ways to watch CandyJar now, and because their shorts are consistently amazing, they deserve their own dedicated posts and don't really need links anymore.

Finally, with more and more shorts being uploaded to TikTok, I've created a TikTok page where I'll be posting the same content I share here (and maybe a few edits), along with saving the TikTok shorts so you don't have to go searching for them. This may eventually become a regular post series here too, but I'm still deciding.

I honestly started this page as an escape from the craziness of life—and from surviving the adventure of parenting preteens. Seriously... check on your friends with preteens because it's a whole different level of chaos. 😂 I also absolutely love the graphic design side of creating these posts.

To everyone who supports my page, likes, comments, shares, or simply follows along—thank you. You honestly help me more than you'll ever know, and I'm so grateful for every one of you.

So i am currently doing my watches of the week for rate. Skip. Link and I go to find the song that is playing in the short and it brings me here!!!????? Did anyone else know this? I know for a fact other apps do not have this!?

Taming my bullies (1, 2 & 3)

The vertical that, in my opinion, made the "taming" trope a thing. I originally planned to do one of my full reviews with ratings, songs, favorite quotes, skips, and all the usual details. But halfway through the second vertical, I decided I just wanted to enjoy the series and save my thoughts for these Bonus Shorts.

This series was genuinely so good. You can really see the growth from the first installment to the last two. I loved how they kept bringing back little callbacks from the original, like her screaming from the school balcony.

The last two verticals definitely gave me Taming the Heiress and The Arrangement vibes, but ReelShort put its own spin on the story, which I appreciated since those two are basically copy-and-paste versions of each other.

August annoyed me throughout most of the series, but that's pretty typical in a love triangle. What stood out most was how close this cast seemed to be. Their chemistry felt natural, and it really showed in their performances.

I am a little disappointed we didn't get a "5 years later" ending because I'm a sucker for those, but I was still happy with how everything wrapped up. I also feel like they may have been hinting at a future story involving August. Either way, the ending was a very cute surprise involving him.
