I’ve actually tried watching this short two different times now, and on this last attempt I just couldn’t get past it.

The acting didn’t land for me, and the confusion in the storyline just didn’t make sense—how do you not realize he’s a freshman in college? Especially when they’re supposedly childhood friends.

And the cheating-with-the-best-friend plot just didn’t work for me either.

I know it’s listed on IMDb as one of the steamy vertical adaptations, but I just couldn’t get into it.

Maybe I’m missing something, so if anyone feels differently, let me know if I should give it another try—because right now, it just left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

This “post series” is for the shorts I watched really fast (while at work or during the 5+ activities I somehow have to sit through 😭) or just didn’t have a ton to say about but still wanted to share.

This one was a vertical short, only about 12 mins, and sponsored by Monopoly Go. It was actually interesting how they worked the game into the story. Overall, just a cute quick watch.

Okay, I need to know if there are any more books-turned-shorts that I’m missing. This doesn’t include any CandyJar shorts because they have their own platform, and you can only read the books there. So, without CandyJar, are there any others I’m missing?

There’s probably more that could be listed, but these are all the key things. They honestly did a very good job making sure the important parts were included in the short. They blended scenes together, but it worked well. I did have to read Bound by Honor and Luca Vitiello to make sure I understood everything. Savannah and Rhett were seriously the perfect match for these characters. While reading, I pictured them the entire time, and honestly, it made the book even better. This is exactly why I like to watch the short before reading the book. Now we wait for Bound by Love to come out. I will be doing a book vs short for that one!!

I haven't decided what the next book vs short will be. I am thinking of maybe doing a poll on the Instagram for people to vote which one to do next.

This was a great week overall. Dramawave really came through as the top app and honestly made up for the disaster that was Forbidden Bonds (2026).

At this point, anything with Joseph automatically gets 3 stars—because… just look at him.

Also, if this week proved anything, it’s that we really don’t need the “mean girl” trope to be physically abusive to get the point across
