This is a reissue from maybe late 1990s, early 2000s. I recently cleaned him up and removed the old stickers with isopropyl alcohol. The new stickers are from Toyhax. His wheels have petrified and one is glued together so I’ll probably replace those. And I need a new right hand. I still have my original complete 1984 Optimus Prime, so this was kind of an experiment before I did anything to him. I also have a Bluestreak reissue and original Blitzwing who are going to get the same treatment

I decided to try a total repaint of my Big Fig Optimus Prime, so I spent the afternoon taking him apart. He should be really easy to paint because EVERYTHING comes apart. The only thing that worries me is that the joints have rubber gaskets that need to be cut, but I think they’ll be ok with a little glue to keep them in place. I’m going to invest in an airbrush and try to do some accents. I’m not going to try to make the upper legs rotate because I’m hoping someone with a 3D printer will come up with some replacement parts. I am going to replace the running lights with LEDs and maybe the eyes.

My local stores hardly ever have anything good but today I lucked out. Got the last ones!
