I have had some of these 1st Gen Cree LED light bulbs in operation since 2013-2014 time frame, and they are still working. One of these is used almost every day. Compared to the newer LED screw in bulbs, these things are heavy and ugly (big metal heat sink). That said, they seem to not die in the normal way (flickering, overheating, cracking heat sinks). I recently got a bunch more new in box from eBay and am hoping to change out all my finicky lights in my house with these. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with 1st Gen LED bulbs from 10+ years ago being much better than today's offerings.
