Built my first plant cabinet — running grow lights overnight so they don’t blind me at my desk. Any tips?

Hi all,

New to the group and grow cabinets but not new tp plants! I recently built out this cabinet over the last couple of weeks and would love any tips, suggestions, or feedback.

The cabinet sits right next to my desk, so I decided to run the grow lights on a 12-hour schedule overnight instead of during the day. During the day, I installed a few warm, low-voltage LED spotlights just for visual effect so the grow lights are not blinding me while I work.

Current setup:

3 Barrina puck grow lights at the top

1 Barrina puck grow light midway down

Custom wood shelves that I cut and installed (not fancy)

2 hydrometer/temp monitors

1 fan running at the moment (multi level control)

This cabinet will mainly be for tropical plants, succulents, and some herbs.

I also have another large IKEA cabinet that I’m turning into more of a cactus/succulent grow cabinet. That one will have a dehumidifier, heater, fans, and grow lights. I’ll add photos once that setup is finished.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, so humidity is naturally high for most of the year. Any advice on airflow, light schedule, plant placement, or humidity management would be appreciated.
