How do you clean your walls?

We have lived in the UK (England) for 6 years but still have not figured out how to clean the walls without removing the paint! Even just a wet rag or paper roll will take the paint right off. Like unsealed chalk paint. Help! I can’t deal with having to decide between dirty walls or missing paint!

Update: just going to edit this because it’s a lot of the same responses and I don’t want to be annoying. Unfortunately, we rent so repainting isn’t exactly what we want to do. I also want to mention that the walls turn wet when water drops get on them. Like a piece of paper would. I know that’s not right! It doesn’t seem unpainted because paint literally comes off when I wipe. You can see a color difference on the wall after and the paint on the cloth. Also, it’s just from scuffs and whatnot from kids etc. I’m not cleaning the whole wall nor would I, but the marks bother me.

I brought my 2016 Kia niro hybrid in to a shop because the coolant was leaking and I heard a water rushing noise. They said it was due to the cap not fitting, causing the threads on the expansion tank to wear down and allow coolant to leak out.

A couple people said their quote to repair was high so I called around and found a place to do it for about £100 less. Entire expansion tank and cap replaced, direct from Kia.

However, a week later and the problem has returned. Coolant is leaking and the water is back.

Am I in the right to go back to the first place and ask them to diagnose again for free? I think it’s the heat exchange which is a known problem for these cars but when I asked if they checked for that he was so dismissive.
