Does anyone know what this is on an out-of-the-box Unice?

I just bought my daughter a Unice HH wig. Straight from the box, when she put it on, it had a white, flaky substance in the hair up front. I can't describe the texture other than it was soft, thin and flaky.

Does anyone know what this is? I thought maybe it was a return they sent us but I don't think it is lace glue. It isn't "crunchy" or stiff like lace glue can be. It seems to be coming out with brushing.

Question regarding normal teeth cleanings

Hello! I have two daughters, ages 16 & 17. They use electric sonic toothbrushes and paradotax toothpaste. Probably dont floss as often as they should. My 16 yr old has braces. Today, after taking her to the orthodontist to have the wires removed, then taking her to our dentist (a corporate chain), I was called back and told that her gums are swollen and she has build up on the back of her teeth so instead of the free clean our insurance pays for, it will be a "periodontal clean" for an additional $227.

I wouldn't be as mad if this had not also happened the last time we brought her. So, they wasted our entire day running around getting the wires off and then having them put back on for nothing. They did not do the first thing to clean them.

Is this a normal practice? Can you not do a general cleaning if there is tartar buildup?

I understand it might not be as good but I plucked out $1k a year ago for the same thing.

I have attached photos
