Is there a need for foster parents for young adults in foster care?

I’m in the process of becoming a foster parent. I was thinking I’d foster a teen, and I still might, but I’m worried about burning myself out between work and being a single foster parent. (I have depression and have to manage my stress levels). I would love to have a young adult to mentor, and have right now said my age group is 18-21, but wondering if that’s a weird thing to do. Thoughts? (I’m in Ventura county, CA - but just asking this in a general sense of course). Thanks.

Is it ok to only accept a child who is legally free for adoption, since that is my hope?

I am 50, F, single, am still in the application process to become a foster parent. It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was 14, but the men I was with didn’t want to, and then there was no man, and I was scared to do it alone. But I’ve decide to do it anyway. I’m going to foster an older teen or even a young adult, I’m pretty sure, and I want it to lead to something permanent. I want a daughter. I also want to foster kids who will return to their families, but I feel like until I have a permanent child, it would make me too sad to have children who I love and they leave. So, I’m thinking of telling the county that I want to only foster a child legally free, in the beginning. Has anyone else done this?

Going to Maui for 4 days - what should I see/do? (What should I prioritize?)

I plan to snorkel in the mornings, and I plan to take a Road to Hana tour. Anything else I should make sure to hit in my short stay? Thanks.

West or South Maui? First time visitor

Going for the snorkeling primarily, and seeing as much marine wildlife as I can. Will be having a car. What’s the best area to stay? Looking to spend up to about $300/night, but not more. (I know it’ll be expensive). I’m going in September and wanna find the beaches with the calmest, clearest Waters.
