Negril hotel recommendations

We are a young couple from Canada and are planning on visiting Negril, Jamaica for the first time end of June! planning a little bit last minute here so could use all the help. We‘re thinking of splitting our 1 week stay between the 7 mile beach area and the west end to get a taste of both - is that wise?

we’re also looking for affordable non all inclusive hotels in each area as we would like to venture out to local restaurants to eat. for the beaches area, I’m looking at coco la palm, Charela inn, tree house, country country, and skylark (kinda pricey).

for west end; we’re looking at catcha falling star or rock house (especially if we do skylark for the beach area).

what is the best combo? We’re celebrating a birthday and anniversary so want to enjoy but also not splurge too much!

any local restaurant recommendations would also be appreciated!!

thank you 🙏🏽

Hi all! We have our citizenship ceremony on May 7 and want to travel end June. hence we’re thinking of utilizing the express pick up option (2-9 business days) for our passports at Surrey central service Canada location. My questions are:

  1. do we need to have travel plans booked to show as proof? We haven’t booked things because of the uncertainty with the passport but want to travel end June and would prefer to buy flight tix after getting the passport in hand

  2. is it worth paying the $50 each person for express pick up? or should we just do the 10 business day pick up ($20 each application)? our goal is to have our passports by end May latest.

  3. how early should we go to Surrey central service Canada location on a Tuesday/wednesday? Are the lineups really bad? wondering if we need a full day off work or half day will suffice.

thanks for any insights!
