Stores I can sell limited run/rare toys and collectables to?
I've got a couple of limited run toys/other collectables in good condition that I think might be worth something, but I don't where I can sell them. Any businesses in Westchester that you can trade in collectables for cash?
In Toy Story 5 (2026)... could he run Doom?
I'm really tired of the notion that Eda was a bad mentor to Luz, or that she never taught Luz anything.
If you personally think Eda was a bad mentor to Luz, more power to you. Thats your reading of the text, and I can't change that. I just disagree with this perception, so here is my very scattered and unpolished counterargument.
I believe that this idea stems from season 1 episode 3: "I Was A Teenage Abomination." The episode begins with Luz not wanting to pick apart the trash slug, causing her to ask Eda if she can give her any more lessons. Eda responds by trying to give Luz a lesson on the spot, having her fish through the corpse of the slug until she finds something. Eda then tells Luz to keep the object she found floating in the slugs body, which later turns out to be a seed that Willow uses to save them.
Eda says, "Hey, here's a lesson: a great witch is resourceful, like this,"
Eda gives Luz a lesson in the beginning of the episode, and at the end of the episode Luz uses that lesson to solve the problem she got herself into. It doesn't seem like it, but this is Eda mentoring/teaching Luz.
Later on in season 1 episode 12: "Adventure In The Elements," the whole episode is centered around Luz wanting to learn magic the same way the Blights do, instead of Eda's method of getting in touch with the isles. In that same episode, Luz going behind Eda's back to use the training wand is what puts the group in danger. The only way Luz is able to save the day is by listening to the lesson Eda gave her earlier in the episode:
"Hey. I know my lessons seem weird but this is what wild magic is all about! Making a connection with nature. The earliest witches understood that. Human witches need to understand it, too. Think about what the island is trying to tell you."
It's only once Luz follows Eda's advice and listens to the isles that she is able to learn the ice glyph, which allows her to save Eda and the Blight Twins.
In Season 1 Episode 2: "Witches Before Wizards," when Luz is feeling unsure about herself after being tricked by Adeghast, Eda takes the chance to impart her wisdom onto Luz. She says: "Everyone wants to believe their chosen, but if we all waited around for a prophecy to make us special we'd die waiting. That's why you need to choose yourself." This reinforces Luz's confidence in herself, while also reminding her of the importance of her individuality.
I have seen some point to the fact that she lets Luz go to Hexside as a sign of her being a bad mentor, but I would argue that is the opposite of the case. Eda repeatedly makes her displeasure with the magic system known to Luz, both at the Covention and before she enrolls Luz at Hexside. However, Eda is able to recognize that Luz's needs as a student are different, and Eda is able to accept this, which is why she enrolls Luz at Hexside.
Was Eda teaching Luz magic the conventional way? No. Was she teaching Luz a new lesson every episode? No. Did she teach Luz very often? Again, no, but that doesn't make her a bad mentor either. The job of a mentor isn't just to teach someone, but to give their protege the tools, opportunities, guidance, and support that they need to become a success, which is what Eda does routinely throughout the series.
In conclusion I spent way too long writing this when I could have been studying for finals.
What is the difference between model sheets and character turnarounds?
I am currently trying to make a series of model sheets of my original characters to add to my portfolio, but when I look online for reference materials, I seem to only get turnarounds. Are turnarounds and model sheets the same, or is a turnaround a type of model sheet? If a turnaround is a type of model sheet, what other types of model sheets are there?
