r/Animators
Work in progress!
Programs used: Blender for the background scene. Toonsquid for animation.
So i am planning to animate a full little scene to practice 3D modeling and 2D character movement, the only problem being I didn't make a storyboard to know what even happens in the scene, so I have absolutely no idea what i am doing.
I am planning to film myself doing movements, taking what i learned and just have fun. Normally I make multiple storyboards and pick the best one, but I was just so exited for the project so i skipped it, which is not a good idea probably.
But maybe some advice or feedback can help. what ya'll think, not a lot going on, and maybe too little to comment on, but i just wanted to post anyway! :3
Frenchie - Gosia Meyer
A story about a French Bulldog.
My second year final project submission for Uni! :)
Written, produced and animated by me: Gosia Meyer (aka milkyseaweed).
If you have a Frenchie, this is by no means an attack or judgement of you as an owner or of your morals! But we do have a responsibility as people to acknowledge when our wants infringe on other living being's needs :).
2D Skeletal Animator for hire
I specialize in making animations with 2D character artwork in Adobe After Effects, an art style seen in games like Marvel Rivals and Reverse: 1999. If you're working on any sort of project or game and are hiring, let me know! I aim for a $10/hr rate but can also price per project if preferred. Can send more examples of work in DMs, thanks!
i'm looking for animators
hello everyone! i dream of creating an animated series, but i am very far from having the necessary skills. and to be honest, i don't have the necessary equipment, so buying everything i need and training will take a long time, and i would like to implement my project while it is relevant. why am i here? i want to try to find artists and animators here, maybe someone here will like my idea. i have scripts, some sketches, a well-thought-out character concept, a map of the area, and so on.
i also already have voice actors and dubbing actors, and i, in turn, deal with scripts, searching for participants for the project, organizational issues and the like
if anyone is interested, i will be happy to chat with you in private messages or comments. thanks for reading!
there are no hard deadlines, but ideally we would release the trailer on august 24th and the pilot episode no later than february 24th, and then release new episodes regularly. Regarding the price of your work: i am ready to offer various payment options and discuss this issue personally to find the ideal option for both parties. regarding style, something like "Gravity Falls," "the Simpsons," or "Rick and Morty." i'm considering mixed styles and am generally open to other options, but in any case, the animation is in 2D
i also want to say that i would be happy to work with aspiring artists and animators
p.s. i apologize for any mistakes, english is not my native language

Job opportunity
My name is Jacob, I am a musician and I am currently producing music for a kids educational YouTube channel.
I am looking for an animator to create the visual representation of what is being taught in the song. So far I have created songs covering topics such as telling the time, days of the week, months of the year, planets in the solar system and I aim to do lots more.
The channel aims to provide great quality education to 4 - 8 year olds whilst remaining fun and engaging. Having worked as a music teacher for 7 years and having children of my own, I am confident that the music I am creating will be a success in classrooms globally. I have also written, performed and produced music professionally 16 years (I am 32).
I have shown the songs to my son’s friends and they’re very excited to see them and sing along to them in their classroom! If you’re looking for a reference channel then just search for Hopscotch on YouTube. That channel is a similar vibe for what I’m going for!
If you’re interested please message me and I will send my tracks over and if you’re happy to go ahead we can discuss payment. I’m looking to start a long term partnership in which the animator would take a percentage of profits made. Of course all of this can be discussed in more detail one to one.
I look forward to hearing from you and starting an exciting and mutually beneficial partnership.
An estimate for the initial phase of the job (5 songs to animate):
Job duration: 2 months
Deadline: 20th August
Budget: Not yet confirmed (can be discussed in DM)
Amature animator looking for a story-telling partner
I'm working on a personal animated project. It is a pilot (I know, very original) and I have script down, a good chunk of the character sheets and even a cast of VA for most roles.
I have had some experince in the field. I worked inside Hoorakhs studio as an intern and worked on "Juliet and King" and since then I have been pursing my own path.
I am not looking for a professional in the field, but someone with the basic undrestanding of script/screenplay writing. I want to further refine the script and someone to bounce ideas off.
The project is a teens supernatural mystery. It has very heavy inspirations from OXENFREE and Night in The Woods. So if those are up your alley I would love to have you on board.
Perhaps I'm being too ambitious?
I've been in pre-production for almost two years on an indie 3D web series, with no budget, no audience, and a team working purely for the love of it.
We're about to start pre-production on the pilot, but honestly, I'm not sure if I'm still that motivated. It's my first project, and I think maybe I was more ambitious than I should have been. The most frustrating part is the money, because when I try to contact animators, I get a lot of insults for mentioning that it's unpaid, and that just makes me feel worse.
I also can't do a Kickstarter or a Patreon because I don't have enough people, and because of my country of origin, I can't create a creator account, so I have to blindly trust someone.
With no team, no money, and no audience, I don't know if it's wise to continue. So far, we're just about to make the pilot with a blind faith that it will be a hit, but I know things don't work that way.
I guess we just have to try, right? I know people don't work for free

My showreel
Hi! This is my animation showreel after 3 years of academy. Let me show what you think!
How much would a 5 minute story time animation cost
Example photos from Jaiden animations
Little to no color and no background or barely any background.
Now Jaiden makes 17-20 minute animations which I understand could take more then 3-4 months
but what about just 5 minutes for someone who doesn't have a alot of big stories or shorter scripts?
What would you charge for this and how much would you charge?
Hourly?
Flat rate/by job?
I'd love to know before hiring someone later to have a steady flow of content creation on my channel at least 1 video every month or 2 while I post other stuff.
This comes as a genuine question : )
What to gift someone that will enter the animation career?
So my brother is graduating high-school and going to university for animation, he already has drawing tablet, last year i gifted him for Christmas one of those gloves for the drawing tablet, i once gave him a dragon ball art book but he just looked over it once (not because he didn't luke it but he just doesn't read a lot) so art books are maybe out of the question, I once gave him a kit with manga markers and he uses it to sketch in his sketchbook a lot (bc it as grey markers and fine point pens so is great for black and white sketches i guess) he also already has clip studio paint.
So yeah knowing all that i wanted to ask in this subreddit full of actual animators what you probably wish you were gifted before you started college? (For more context he is staying local for college so no dorm or going away gifts)
Need feedback >:3
I am still new to animation, I have been animating for about a year or two but never practiced any principles and didn't do it often.
I always had the plan to animate some scenes i wrote for my characters, but never came around to it.
the first one is from yesterday, the second one from around two weeks ago.
There is still a lot to improve on, and i am aware the shapes aren't very consistent, i will see if i can fix that with the second sketch.
Simplifying complex patterns in 2d animation
hi hello! im working on a character design for a 2d animated project and struggling to simplify a camouflage pattern.
this character wears a military uniform - I was hoping people on this subreddit might have some ideas or suggestions for simplifying complex patterns like camo. i can’t find many characters in 2d animations that wear camo, so recommendations for that would also be appreciated! a static copy-paste pattern is not preferred. thank you!!
