Finding local watch shops

Hey everyone,

About to buy my first rep, thinking a VSF Daytona. I'm wondering if/when it breaks down how easy it is to find a local watch shop to fix it (in Australia specifically if anyone is from here)? Or is it generally easier to send back to the TD, and whether TDs generally are good when it comes to accepting repairs and reissuing, is so are some better than others?

If anyone can comment on their experiences that would be great.
