Thrown to the bottom of the dumpster and still works! Sorry for the bad picture
I recently acquired my fourth and fifth zenit camera, of which three have curtain issues and the other two have a damaged prism (the only two working ones). I am trying to service them all, but i am being stopped by this weird screw that will not unscrew. While trying to unscrew this screw on my 12XP, the head of the screw broke, leaving the thread of the screw inside. I ended up drilling a smaller hole through the old thread and fit a smaller screw through it. It works now, but looks unappealing, so i intend to buy a replacement, but i don't know where to find it, nor do i know what it's actually called. I would also like to know what tool is tipically used to unscrew this screw. The picture shows the screw, which holds the frame counter down, on my 12SD. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
I have some nimo tubes, so i'm just showcasing them here.
Yesterday my commodore 1084 started having an unusually dim picture. Upon recapping, the problem prevailed and i could hear voltage leaking in the flyback. Upon turning the monitor off, the voltage on the tube was so high, that it would arc to the screwdriver less than 1cm into the suction cup. I figured it's a bad flyback and i am looking on the HR diemen website at the different models and the pins of the original (older model 1084 from 1987) fit the HR6489, but its voltage output is 31.5kV. I'll send the link, 7506 and 7533 seem to be the replacements, but the 6489 is the only one that fits. Which do i get?

On the pictures is the old flyback and neck board.
Yeah it is definitely not supposed to be that spicy.
I have had this commodore 1084 for a while now, i got it from a friend who trashpicked it years ago and fixed it. It got pretty used for the time i had it, which is about a year. This morning when i went to play on my c64 the picture was unusually dim. I suspected the electrolytics, so i recapped the whole machine. Upon powerup there was a relatively loud hissing sound (voltage leak) in the HV circuitry. At first i suspected the spark gap on the neck, but quickly realized it was coming from the flyback. The picture also does not show up at all, except when the unit is powered off, and the picture flashes brightly as it turns off (normal behavior). Now even that is barely visible, and horribly out of focus. I'm 99% sure the flyback finally gave out as the monitor got quite a bit of use. The tube is in great shape even after all the use, and you could get it really bright until this morning. Is this the flyback, and if so, where do i obtain a replacement (for a reasonable amount of money)
The arc when discharging the tube is also extremely large, i will post that video in another post
I an trying to view the serial numbers of older c64s, but the page just redirects me to aliexpress and gambling sites. How come? How do i avert this situation? Appreciate the info
Hello. I would like to connect my c64 to my epson lx300, but i have no idea how other than the fact that i need to use the user port. My plan is to write a basic program that serves like a simple interface to print labels and such. I would also like to connect two c64s to the phone line and communicate by text, but that is a separate project. Any and all help is appreciated.
My nearly full collection, apart from some manuals and schematics (and a cartridge). The most recent addition (brown breadbin) is a dumpster find:D
Last Friday I found a c64 at the recycler and upon testing i got a black screen of death. After replacing the PLA with a modern equivalent pulled from a known working c64, this now happens. The basic is unresponsive, but when some cartridges are inserted it becomes kind of usable. I have proven that the following ICs work: 6526 1 6526 2 901226-01 901227-03 901225-02 6510 7406 556 7408 6569 And the 906114-01. TIA for the advice
