A group of ours is doing the Sā Biennale circuit in Aug 2026 and we will have 3 days to spare at the end. I would love for Ladakh aficionados locals to chime in with leads on 2-3 things that I wanted to experience.

1. hyper local food, non touristy

2. best monasteries to visit

3. hyper local produce, groceries that locals buy

4. Kitchen utensils and metal craft in leh or other parts of Ladakh (other than Chilling)

5. wood carvers in leh or other parts of Ladakh along our route.

6. where I can get myself a Tsa Tsa mould (preferable not from a gallery or antique shop) (image attached)

7. where I can buy a gau portable shrine (image attached)

our itinerary is as follows:
Day 1 — Srinagar → Kargil
Day 2 — Hunderman → Mulbekh → Kargil
Day 3 — Kargil → Heniskot → Lamayuru → Nurla/Ule
Day 4 — Nurla → Likir → Nurla/Ule
Day 5 — Basgo → Leh
Day 6 — Leh
Day 7 — Leh → Upshi → Chumathang → Nyoma → Hanle
Day 8 to 11 — OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS
