What to pack?

Hello! I’m going to Madagascar in October as part of my honeymoon. Mainly focusing on the Andasibe area due to time constraints/have a big passion for wildlife.

What clothes would you advise packing? Will be in the rainforest a lot so should I bring a lot of leech proof trousers?

Thank you in advance! I can’t wait 🕷️🐍🦜🐦🦋🐞

Planting in the heat? Always a bad idea?

Excuse if this is a stupid question. But is it always a bad idea to plant in the summer in pots? I am moving soon, would it be better to plant in September? Would mulching help?

Thank you for any advice.

Thank you

Hello! I have posted here a few times about my challenging puppy/now teenager. And I just wanted to say thank you for all the advice and support you have given me.

My boy is still hard work but I have hope with time and training it’ll improve.

I think without this group I would feel like a complete failure as I have worked so hard with him and he is still so much barkier and wild than others dogs. And I just look like an incompetent owner and my mental health has been at a low for a while.

Slowly seeing some improvements and he is a lovely kind boy.

Thank you again for your help and advice.

When did you see the real change teenager - adult?

My boy is 14 months old, I love him and I’m in it for the long haul. But some days my life is miserable.

He has improved so much in the last two months but is still pretty hard work. I do a lot of training but he’s very loud and switched on a lot of the time.

Is there a day it just clicked for you? You just noticed a calmer dog? In the puppy thread a lot of people said a year and I’m past that now

What are these? South east UK

Hello!

Are these poplar hawk moths? South east UK. Thank you. And if so are they common? They remained like that all day.

Sleeping problems

Hello! I posted on here a few times a while ago and my boy has improved so much (13 months) but I am still having one difficult problem, sleep.

He sleeps in the crate downstairs and whenever my partner is home he won’t bark. When it’s just me, he often will bark loads when crated at night and I don’t know why? We have tried having him in the room but he doesn’t settle. Not sure what I can do about it. I can’t leave him to bark it out as we share walls and it would be at antisocial hours.

Would love any advice or ideas as why this could be. Thank you.

Keeshond waking up earlier 4/5am

Hello!

My 1 year old Keeshond used be able to sleep in until 7:30/8am and now has started getting me up at 4/5am for around a week. He is not ill and never desperate for the toilet and has access to water.

It is a lot hotter in the UK this week, is it just heat? He is very hyper. I would just leave him but he barks loudly and disturbs my neighbours so I can’t. Appreciate any advice

How long do you leave your dog alone?

Purely curious how long do you leave your puppy/dog alone? Daily and then for things like going out for an afternoon? Struggling to know what is normal. I mostly look after mine by myself but sometimes like to head out to see friends for 4 hours, feel guilty but then surely I have to have a life too.

Do dogs really settle at 18 months?

I keep seeing posts about people saying at 1 their dog was massively better.

Mine just turned one and is still so much work. Will it be any easier in 6 months?

Thank you ♥️ I’m just super tired

Hello!

I am looking to send a week in the Andasibe area. I love wildlife and am really excited for birds, plants, reptiles and lemurs.

Is a week too long to spend in this area? If so I could do three nights here and three nights elsewhere just not sure where as want to avoid domestic flights.

Thank you in advance for your help.
