If you’re participating in somebody’s entourage for their birthday/wedding/event, follow the dress code

Don’t know why this has to be a controversial opinion. I’m participating in a dance for my friend’s birthday party and somebody has already quit because she wants us in matching dresses. I just saw a video on Instagram of somebody’s bsf refusing to attend their wedding because they can’t wear their goth makeup and be a part of the bridal party. I’m not sure why putting yourself aside for one event to support your close friends is such a hard concept to understand. Having people match doesn’t equate to stripping their identity it’s just for aesthetic and photos. If you aren’t willing to do that for someone you’re not their friend.

LACs are underrated

I got accepted to some T20s and ultimately picked a top LAC because of the beautiful, huge campus mixed with the small student body (no classes taught by TAs and the professors are focused on each individual student), the influx of opportunities (that they pay for), the loyal and supportive alumni network, and their grad stats.

Now I’m not saying top research universities do not have their perks. But I feel like some students don’t even consider top liberal arts colleges and ones who do refer to them as safeties. It all really depends on what you’re looking for.

In my opinion if you’re a competitive student who wants and is ready to constantly be in competition with your peers for majority of opportunities then a top research university is def for you. If you competed all through highschool and you’re looking for a chiller, more collaborative environment with a lot of faculty support I suggest looking into LACs. There are a lot of other factors, but that was one of the main things I looked at.

What is with the influx of “Am I getting rescinded posts?” I really do not understand it. Yall get into these great colleges, but start failing your second semester of senior year? Highschool doesn’t end when you get into college, it ends when you get your diploma. If you can’t keep up with your senior year grades how do you expect to thrive at these schools? You did it for 3 years and a half why give up in the home stretch?

So for the 2026-2027 applicants, please remember to finish school fully. Don’t stop prioritizing Highschool after you know where you are going. Don’t be the kid that has to send a letter to their T50 about how they just couldn’t push through that final semester.
