Turned my phone addiction into Anki review time. Looking for testers

Like most of you I have way too many Anki cards to get through and way too much screen time on apps I don't need. So I built an app that forces me to answer flashcards before I can open distracting apps.

You import your Anki deck, pick which apps to block, and every time you try to open one, you get quizzed. It prioritizes cards you get wrong more often.

Image occlusion is supported.

It's been working way better than app timers for me because you can't just tap "ignore". you actually have to engage with the material.

I'm still running tests right now and I'd love feedback from actual med students who live in Anki all day. If you want to try it, DM me if you are Android or iOS and I'll send you a link. Anyone who gives detailed feedback gets a free week of premium (unlimited blocked apps, configurable cooldowns, Flashcards generator).

To many samples in my Library

Too many duplicate samples

Over the years my sample library has grown immensely. And there are many duplicate samples. But I don't want to delete them since they all might be used in some project.

Do you know this problem?

How do you deal with that?

I made an App that forces me to study before I can use Social Media

I made an app that forces me to study my vocabulary before I can use Instagram, Tiktok, ...

You can also import your own Anki flashcards, Multiple Choice Quizzes or generate Flashcards based on your study notes automatically.

If you want to try it out, you can get it here:

Android:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cardgate

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/cardgate-learn-then-scroll/id6761844846

(iOS not available in EU yet, release is next week here)

Why is my context window always set to 1M? I chose the smaller context window in the settings, but its still at 1M? Why?

Does anyone else have the same problem? How to fix it?

Is there a language learning app that doesn't require a monthly subscription? I am fine with paying 30-50 bucks once and then it's mine forever. Or are all the good ones subscription based?

Pick the apps that distract you during your day. Pick a flashcard deck (or Auto-generate one). When you open a blocked app, a quiz pops up. Pass it to unlock the app, fail to retry.

You can:

  • Import .apkg, CSV, or sync from AnkiDroid, or auto-generate a deck based on your study slides
  • Three quiz modes: Flip, Type-the-answer, Multiple Choice
  • Image occlusion cards render properly
  • Earned Time mode: Block as many apps as you want -> Answer flashcards -> Each correct card earns 30 seconds that you can later spend in social media
  • Pomodoro Focus Sessions with strict mode and a whitelist

I am still looking for feedback.

You can download the app here:
