Ranked #1 on Google in less than a year

One of our clients finally hit the #1 spot in their area after about 8 months. Not because we found some secret SEO trick or some magic AI tool. We just kept showing up. Improved the website, kept their Google Business Profile updated, published content, collected reviews, fixed little issues as we found them, and gave it time.

I feel like a lot of people expect results in 30 days, and I get it. But seeing this was a good reminder that consistency still wins. Sometimes the boring stuff really does work if you keep doing it.

My biggest word of advice – keep pushing Google reviews. Put links on QR codes, talk about them with every customer - send automated requests via sms & email.

Clients don’t want what you think they want

I think one of the biggest reasons new agencies struggle is because they’re selling deliverables instead of solving problems.

Nobody wakes up wanting a new website or a CRM. They want more calls, more appointments, and more customers. If you can’t show them how what you’re building gets them closer to that, you’re making your own job harder.

Once I stopped talking about features and started talking about outcomes, sales conversations got a lot easier. Clients don’t really care how something works. They just want to know why it matters.

If you’re paying for ads, can you answer this one question?

I think most small business owners are wasting money on ads without realizing it.

Every time I talk to someone who’s running ads, I end up asking the same question: “Out of everyone who visited your website last month… how many actually became a lead or customer?” Most people have no clue. That’s the part that blows my mind. They’ll know they got 800 website visitors, but they can’t tell you how many people called, filled out a form, booked an appointment, or bought something. At that point, how do you even know if your ads are the problem? Maybe your website is. Maybe your pricing is. Maybe your contact form is broken. You’re just guessing.

I feel like a lot of people are so focused on getting more traffic that they forget to measure what actually matters. I’d rather have 100 visitors and know exactly what’s converting than 10,000 visitors with no idea what’s going on.
