So I finally upgraded! Picked up a Predator Helios Neo 16S AI because my old Nitro 5 was getting loud, running hot, and basically screaming every time I put it under heavy load.
Now this new Predator… Bro… it’s running a full‑blown jet engine at load. Like PredatorSense said “maximum thrust engaged” and never looked back.
I expected better cooling compared to the Nitro, but this thing is hitting full RPM the moment I start anything GPU‑heavy. Temps are fine, but the noise is wild.
Anyone else experiencing this with the Neo 16S AI? Is this normal for the Ultra 9 + 50‑series GPUs, or do I need to tweak something (fan curves, turbo mode, BIOS settings, etc.)?
Would appreciate any tips before my laptop takes off into orbit.

Info/Requirements
Hey all,
I’m looking at grabbing a high‑end 18" gaming laptop, and I’m stuck between two options available in AU:
I’ve read multiple reports that the Helios 18 has serious overheating issues, especially under sustained load. On the other hand, my previous MSI laptop had display problems, so I’m a bit hesitant to go back to MSI as well.
Both machines look like absolute monsters on paper, but I’m mainly worried about:
If anyone here owns either of these (or last year’s versions), I’d love to hear your real‑world experience before I drop several thousand dollars.
Thanks in advance!
