Are there unwritten rules?
This teen challenged my 39 y.o. friend to a match. The teen showed up late, didn’t bring new balls, got frustrated during match and smacked a ball out the fence so far it got lost in the bushes, also made pretty tight line calls. Here’s a vid of one of the line calls
And explain why
Mine:
Wing - their original nen instructor. Idk I kind of like his vibe
Kite - maybe he’d be 1 if he lasted longer
Bisky - she was good too. It’s hard to rank them all because I kind of like them all
I can easily just roll my second serve in and it’s good enough. I never understood how players can hit at full speed and not fear double faulting
Double false toss + sweat wipe + underarm serve
Over the weekend, for a doubles league match my partner was about to open a can of Wilson Championship extra duty balls as our team was designated to open balls. I stopped him and said “I’ll open my Penn balls” since I thought a more “dead” ball would maybe give us a slight edge.
Funny enough, I opened the can of Penns and the opponent said “ew Penns. You don’t have US Opens? I have a can of Wilson US Opens we can use”. I said “sure that’s fine” since it didn’t matter too much to me even though I just opened the can. So we played with his US open balls.
Now I’m shopping around for tennis balls to figure out what I should use as my opponent rejected my tennis balls 😭. I’m considering a slightly obscure brand like Diadem or Yonex or something.
In your experience, which balls do you prefer/ not prefer?
Seems like the 50 hour penalty was a good thing because Gon’s group got to stay in a comfortable room with beds and food and drink and books; meanwhile all the candidates that finished early are shown at the bottom of the tower doing absolutely nothing the entire time but just sitting against the tower wall
