Has anyone genuinely done workcation with a good work-load?

I have been planning for a workcation with a friend but a lot of things come to mind when I start looking for places. Has anyone here has genuinely successfully done workcation? How has it been like in terms of:

  1. Do you really get your work done? Especially on days of high work-load when your eyes are stuck to the screen for 8 hours?

  2. As continuation of above point, sitting for that long on our cushiony ergonomic chairs at home is fine, but do we find that level of comfort to sit for 8-9 hours?

  3. Where do you work? Cafés or where you stay? If cafe, doesn’t it feel awkward to sit for the entire day? Don’t you feel pressurised to order things in short intervals?

I think that’s all the questions I have in my mind currently. Really want to give this a shot but worried I might not be able to get my work done nicely due to the factors I asked :(

FYI, planning Varkala during October end or mid-November. Looking for places but not seeing any place comfortable enough to work 8-9 hours.

People who have seriously done this, guide me pleaseee!

Thoughts on contract roles paying in USD?

I got offered a contract role from a company X to work for their client Y. The contract is for 1 year, which they emphasised is extendable.

I researched and talked to a few people and they are saying you face issues in getting full-time roles later on, especially from big MNCs.

My question is, is this worth getting into? Can I potentially face problems when trying to look for a full time job after my contract ends? The pay is good, the work seems to be what I wanted since I am trying to pivot from data analyst to data engineer roles, and the role offered is analytics engineer.

(Asking after resigning 😩 but please help!)
