How busy are students?

My main question is how busy are students that outside social life is hard to maintain? Is it hard to maintain, or is it doable? I will leave the story under this. But for the people who don’t want to read the whole story… how busy are students that outside life is too hard to handle?

The story: I work in Amherst, I do not work for Amherst college but I’m on the campus every day. I work with students all the time. And while working I met someone, fell hard for this person. And I am just looking for some kind of closure because I never got closure and always wondering what happened. And I’m wondering if some people can tell me if outside life is hard to manage due to school work and activities. So I can stop wondering. So I have a better understanding why the relationship ended. I know why it ended but it’s blurry.

I am well off financially, and that attracted this person somewhat. But we genuinely connected. And it really didn’t bother me that this person had double “standards.” The person is such a good person I was able to overlook it. But the one thing was this person always claimed to be too busy, can’t see me due to events. And I did find out this person was very active in events and clubs. But I found out this person got into stealing, drugs, etc… I was so scared I stopped and started saying I was falling on hard times and such. I did not want my hard work to go into drugs and someone’s habit. I loved this person, I still do. I would do anything for this person even if it’s 5 years from now. But it started becoming dates/see eachother was quick pass by seeing eachother almost not time for me… very secretively.

I am young, and if I were to meet someone or somehow date the same person… are you really so busy you can’t hold a relationship? I went through college it was hard, but I still found time in college to do things. I will never say who, I will never say gender. I will not “out” this person, this person is a good person. I think was just in a bad situation. None of us had it easy going through school with Covid and technology and social media harassment… and the two of us had extra rough life experiences it seemed.

Graduating but still have classes

When someone graduates and still have a few more credits to do, but want to walk with their class Amherst college lets students. But they usually have an asterisk next to their name saying they didn’t finish. Is there any scenario where a student that hasn’t completely graduated wouldn’t have it?

I know it’s a weird question. Sorry!

Does anyone remember the cop show “Life” it would be a hit now with technology!

So back in early 2,000’s there was a cop show with Charlie Cruz and Dani Reese. Charlie was a Police officer who was accused of doing something (I forget) and set to jail. Well he was released from jail and found out he did not
Do the crime, but he did not know how technology evolved, flip phones, computers, etc. and he was infatuated with fruit due to not having fresh fruit in prison. Charlie got Promoted to Detective and got his job back even though he sued the city for false imprisonment. The show showed how detective Charlie Cruz navigated the new world of technology. I will say Charlie was an Odd ball, in a funny cute way. I remember him drawing a smiley face on a post it note and putting it on his screen and smiling back at it in one episode. And I believe he named the smiley face.

Could you imagine a show like this now??? A falsely accused cop getting out after years and navigating how to do his job with all this new technology? Back in2008/2009 technology was taking a real turn… but what about? In 17 years our phones can do more than those big 50-70 pound desk top computers and our phone weighs a half pound? Maybe a pound at most…

I miss the show “Life” and I really think they should try to do the show again! I think it would be funny to see a cop that’s been in prison for so many years navigate through to technology these days.

On a side note. I was born in 1991. I remember no computers, my first car was 10 years old with a cassette tape player. In high school everyone had flip phones. In 10th or 11th grade the first iPhone came out. We had “computer labs” in high schools and laptops in college. The iPad also came out in college. Now my darn car has a darn computer in it with a big screen. I’m starting to feel like my parents, not understanding this world with how the technology.

So I’m in an open relationship. My BF is totally the more attractive one. When I go on Grindr I get nothing…. He says when he goes on Grindr he gets nothing either… and I’m kind of looking at him like what? YOU GET NOTHING?!?! I swear he would be on a meet up every night. But he says he gets nothing most of them time. Is he just trying to make me feel better? I know good looking is subjective to perspective…. But he is the typical young attractive college guy.
