Files trying to open in their own named apps.

Very dumb issue but I can't figure it out. Windows explorer is basically attempting to open every file in it's own app (atleast that's what it looks like). Whenever I double click on a file, it says the file's directory as the app name and the error says "application not found". I've tried troubleshooting, setting explorer.exe as the file app in cmd, restarting windows explorer and restarting my computer. Basically tried a handful of things but none seem to work.
Any tips are appreciated, thx.

[Unsure][2000s] 2d mecha game of sorts

It was like this 2d old style game of sorts where you gotta defeat like human enemies while dodging huge mecha arms and legs and at the end you fight the head of the mecha I think. Graphics is like street fighter or i might be misremembering.
