Canon r7 as a 2nd body

Howdy!

I shoot events and I typically enjoy using two bodies with two primes, one wide one telephoto.

I’ve been using the r6ii as my main with a 5div as my 2nd body.

While I love the 5div, it is heavy and I’m loving the size and speed of mirrorless bodies these days.

I was thinking about just grabbing another r6ii, but I spotted the r7s going for a pretty good price on the used market.

It does have dual card slots, and since it’s my 2nd body I’ll use it with my telephoto prime so I’m not worried about a crop.

Would using and matching the r7 with the r6ii be pretty seamless? Is it decent for pro work?

Wireless boom setup question

Hey all! Was wondering if someone had a recommendation for a setup I was looking to achieve.

I recall looking into this a few years ago but maybe there’s been some developments.

Basically I was looking for a setup that can be the following:

* shotgun mic -either on a boom pool or boom pole stand,
* records a 32 bit float track with recorder attached near/with the mic or on the boom pole itself.
* has an audio out to attach something like a rode go (or whatever wireless transmitter) to attach to camera.

The point being is looking for a boom setup that can record a 32 bit float track while also sending a signal to the camera so there’s a line going there and remove any wires going to the camera. Mainly suggesting that I can have audio right on the video clip itself and if I run into rf interference I could have a 32bit float track as a backup.

It looks like deity might have some new products out but as I recall, there were some weird patent issues so that something like this wasn’t able to be made in the US?

The only other idea I have is mounting a zoom f3 right to the shot got mic on the boom, and running a 3.5 wire out to a rode go and connect that to the camera. But would I run into interference issues with the zoom f3/rode go sitting close together?

Any suggestions would be great thanks!

Canon c70 users - how is the 1080p footage?

Hey!

I’m a canon c100ii user and have the opportunity to get a canon c70. The main thing I’m dealing with is, I really enjoy the smaller file sizes with the c100. However 10bit would be great.

I see the canon c70 can shoot 2k but I don’t see it discussed much or footage from it unless it’s at higher frame rates (really only use 24fps). Is the 2k down sampled? Does it look good? I noticed on some 6k canon sensors the 1080 will look bad because of line skipping but the c70 has a native 4k sensor so I’m hoping it would look good.

Thanks!
