Hi! My friend and I are going on a 12 hour round trip by car and we would like to listen to an audiobook that will keep us entertained. We are mostly looking for:
- spice: explicit open door would be ideal but that also has a plot.
- banter
- a lot of cliches
For the third point my friend loves enemies-to-lovers stories with “who did this to you?” scenes (for reference she loved {One dark Window by Rachel Gillig}). I, on the other hand, love the arranged marriage trope, lot of political machinations and for reference I really liked {The Cruel Prince by Holly Black} and {The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen}
I wanted to introduce my friend to the monster romance genre and so I though of {Luxuria by Colette Rhodes} but at the same time I never read it and I want a “gentle entry” that doesn’t traumatise her 😅.
We were also thinking of Mate since I read Bride (but I’m not sure she could read it without reading the first one)
I want a standalone but if you have a rec that you think may fit what we are looking for feel free to suggest it (at most we will read it later)
