There are no trains running running between Virar and Vasai. Pls don't go and get stuck somewhere unnecessarily. Stay with your family and be safe.

Our most reliable mode of transport and we are cut off. It's only going to get worse in the future with more construction and more concrete. There's no place for the water to escape.

Just came across this ad on Insta from a Real Estate Developer. Do you think this is true?

Maybe in certain areas. And which areas are considered outskirts or developing. I know which are the Premium areas. Are these prices realistic..!!

Peoples... Hwz everyone doing this morning? Hope everyone's safe.. Pls don't venture out if not necessary. Post some pics from your areas.

The monsoons arrived late this year but made up for lost time. Just hope it rains in the areas where the lakes are located and the lakes get filled up so that there'll be sufficient water for everyone.

I've come to the conclusion that the conditions in Mumbai during the rains are not going to change and will only get worst in the future

I mean look at Mumbai over the years. So much construction all over. The foundation of these high rises goes so deep into the ground. There's concrete everywhere. Every time there's a new infrastructure project announced, trees and mangroves are sacrificed and there's no place to replant them within Mumbai due to scarcity of land. So it's natural that flooding will take place every monsoon as there's barely any land for the water to get absorbed. It's not impossible, but the government doesn't have the willingness to solve the problem. They know that monsoon comes once a year and goes by. People complain about it and move on. And then it's forgotten. So solving this issue is not top of their agenda. Their priorities are totally different.

Monsoon update until July 7th. The rains will continue going into the next week as well.

These rains have compensated for the lack of rain in June

This is no joke. Mumbai locals carry more people in a day than the population of most countries.

People of India. If you are coming to Mumbai, taking a Mumbai local train ride should be on your bucket list.

SIFS emerge as new home for lumpsum money flows

What are your thoughts on this ? I'd like to get some opinions on SIF's. Is it a good avenue to park your funds for the long term, say a 10 year horizon.

Well the 3rd airport coming up is neither part of Mumbai nor part of Virar

It's fair to say that Palghar to get it's first airport. Virar was never considered part of Mumbai. Still people from Mumbai look down upon Virar like it's some gaon in the far off suburbs and pity people travelling from there as it is soooooo ffaarrrr....

What are your views of the Life Cycle Funds launched by Zerodha? It's the first of its kind in India with no historical track record.

I'6d it a good investment option or are mutual funds and FD's a better option?

People who have moved from flats to row bungalows: Which one do you'll prefer?

As someone who has lived in flats my whole life but has dreamt of living in a bungalow I'm curious. I may not be able to afford a bungalow, but a row bungalow is not out of reach. So, how is it like living in a row bungalow compared to a flat.Is it more of a hassle in terms of security, maintenance issues, having less neighbours, garbage collection and all.

Anyone here has a kid studying at Rustomjee Virar?

I'd like some feedback about the school if anyone here has a kid studying at that school. How is the teaching, extracurricular activities etc. Do they encourage sports of any kind.

Aadhar, pan, voter id, driving licence...

If Aadhaar, Voter ID, and Passport are not definitive proof of citizenship, then what is?

Today I learned that Aadhaar is not proof of citizenship, Voter ID is not proof of citizenship, and now the MEA has clarified that a passport is primarily a travel document and not, by itself, conclusive proof of citizenship.

So I'm genuinely curious.

We're living in a Dual Tax Economy

Totally makes sense. We pay for the solution to our problems and we pay the government tax as well for the the same problems that haven't found a solution to.

And this time - it's the schools & the victims are the children and their future which is at stake.

So if there are so many illegal schools, how did they go undetected. This clearly shows that the authorities were taking bribes and granting permission to operate schools without thoroughly checking. And secondly, if these schools are shut down, do we have sufficient schools to accommodate all these students!!
