Thank you to everyone’s advice! We successfully took our pup Emma and she loved it! My wife and I spent one night in beautiful Colorado backcountry temps during the day were 65° down to 38°. We hiked a total of 10 miles up to an alpine lake and then in the morning submitted a mountain pass and came back down. Elevation gain was 2,250’.
Hello everyone, I am considering hiking the CT as a thru hike in 2027. I have spoken to my wife, my boss, my friends and my family. They are all very supportive and I’m lucky to have them. But still for some reason, I don’t know if it’s nerves or human nature or guilt, I am still hesitant to set it in stone. I am having a hard time convincing myself that this it is okay to go. Anyone felt this way? How did you overcome it?
After rescuing her 3 months ago she has truly settled in and become a wonderful hiking/paddle board/cuddle pup. Any tips on trying to go camping in a tent with her for the first time?

We have had her a month and a half and she is quite literally the best dog I’ve ever known. Ultra smart, active when she needs to be, calm when she needs to be, and easy to train. She seems happy just to have a home and love. Took her for two 5 mile hikes this weekend and she seemed so grateful to be out in nature. So happy to have her in my life.
