sos need community

I travel a lot for work and usually end up living in different places for a year or two, but I have genuinely never felt as lonely as I have since moving here.
I’m foreign, I’ll be here for a few more years, and I just don’t know how to get started socially. My coworkers are just coworkers and I always feel like I’m bothering them with activities to try. I’m learning Norwegian, but I still feel so lost.
I dread going home to my apartment and honestly cry when the weekends come because I don’t know how to connect with people. I want to go out, meet people, go to bars, hear live music, dance, explore, etc. Oslo feels so small but somehow so lonely.
How do you actually make friends here? Especially as a foreigner? I’d really love some advice recommendations. I’m feeling so lost

How many orgasms is too many for a woman?

I feel as though there is something different with me. And yes, I know it’s not a BAD thing. But after my first orgasm, whether it is by myself or with a partner, I can orgasm so many more times. Like anywhere from 5-15? And they don’t diminish in intensity either. They vary and change and it’s just interesting to me. I’m a 27F and I’ve never heard of any of my girlfriends or others being able to do this. Curious if anyone else has this same thing?

Settling in

Just moved to Oslo for work. Contract is for a few years. I’ve settled in and started to learn the language as I really want to find some sort of community here. I’ve lived in different places and I find it quite lonely. I haven’t found a sense of community yet. People don’t seem to strike up conversations. I’m a young woman and just wanted to ask if anyone has had any other experiences or advice. Takk!

First time being fired

I work a part time job in graphic design. My boss knows me and asked for me to apply for the job 3 months ago. My main career is being an actor which is obviously very different. I was inbetween work and they thought some of my skills in graphic design would be a good fit. It’s 15 hours a week, I was doing 11-13 for the past month, as I landed a huge acting job. They knew this as I’ve been transparent with them. Then all of a sudden, I stop hearing messages from them and I’m logged out of all of our work platforms.

“As long as your work is getting done, it doesn’t matter how long it takes.” Was said in the interview.

Well, all the work was getting done. I received a half ass email saying that I take too long to make designs and that I’m not doing enough hours and that I’d be let go of immediately.

I feel weirdly sick? I’m lucky that my actual dream job has taken off but it’s my first time being fired from my part time gig and I just feel like a failure. Part of life I guess

Moving to Oslo as an 🇺🇸

Hi there! I’m moving to Oslo for an important job and I don’t know a soul. I’m 26F have been living in the UK for a few years and now making the move for a job I can’t refuse and one that I’m very excited about.

I’m originally from a big city and missing that life. I know Oslo is much smaller in comparison but are there other women my age looking for friends? Is there a sense of community? Any ex pats around? I’m excited and nervous and just curious for some unbiased opinions.

Do not use AnyVan

Probably the worst service I’ve ever paid for. We hired a van to move out of our house, and when it arrived there were already other people’s belongings inside it. The driver then told us he had to make additional stops to collect even more people’s items along the way! WTF?!!

As a result, everything we needed to move wouldn’t even fit in the van itself! We had absolutely no idea this was going to be a shared service so if we had known. Of course we wouldn’t have chosen it.

To make matters worse, we paid for the largest van available, but a medium-sized van turned up because, as the woman on the phone told us, “that’s all they had that day.” That’s not what we ordered or what was advertised? So of course We asked for a refund because the service provided was completely different from what we had booked, but we were told it was non-refundable.
I had many fragile belongings to move, and the idea that other customers’ bags would be stacked on top of my things while making extra collection stops was completely unacceptable!!!! We weren’t told any of this until the van arrived on moving day, when we had no choice but to continue. Then we were told our entire house wouldn’t even fit because of the other customers’ belongings.
The whole experience was misleading, unprofessional, and incredibly stressful. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
