I bring kids from a transition sped program to the local high school to wash dishes. One of the male paras in his upper 50s/lower 60s calls me (42f) a “screenager” if I’m on my phone or even reading on my Kindle (I have a lot of downtime between checking in with my students). What is a good reply to shut him up and make him wonder if I am giving him snark or not? Mine you, he frequently has his phone out. He’s one of the “I’m better than you” jerks.

EDIT: The sped kids are actually adults 18-22. We are a transition program working on basic life skills. They are paid to work in the kitchen :)
