Now that the cat is out of the bag, is there any reason why a PC player would not migrate over to reskate? Way more options, offline, free of any risk of getting the plug pulled.
Does anyone else see this as leading to a potentially huge drop in the PC player base?
It feels like many bands put out these lavish anniversary vinyl sets with remasters and live material.
Black Celebration turned 40 this year and nothing.
I would've liked a boxset with a fresh remaster, b-sides, demos and a full live show with a Blu-ray of the music videos and TV performances of that era.
They'll put out boxsets of all black studio albums and vinyl sets of remixes, but not album sets?
Seems odd! Anyone know why that may be?
With many of us having played for over a year now, and the one year anniversary of Early Access coming up, what does everyone think about this state of the game?
I was massively disappointed for the majority of the year. It took me a very long time to wrap my head around the fact that this is NOT supposed to be a sequel or continuation of the Skate series.
Now after accepting that this game will never be what I want it to be, and embracing what it is, here's my takeaways.
The Good:
Skate mechanics are still there. Getting better each season.
The soundtrack has grown, getting larger and better.
More modes are being added.
More real brands, real events, some actual skaters doing voice overs.
Great for picking up and playing for a few minutes.
The Bad:
Gameplay structure is boring with monotonous challenges.
Missions are dull.
New areas not part of the map, walled off.
The Ugly:
Art style is terrible.
No pros represented in the game.
Monotonous map with no real variety built in.
Customization lacking.
No board wear.
Classic modes MIA.
Vee.
Seasons start off with dull spots, get better during the event, get dull again once the event ends.
Feeling like the microtransactions add player friction to new spots and customization. (Not sure if it's unavoidable with F2P)
No real sense of purpose with progression (we'll see what happens in S5)
It still feels very much a game in progress (Early Access!) and being figured out as it goes along. I was hoping for a game closer in spirit and feel to the Skate series, but this isn't that. If the game was called anything else, I'd probably be more forgiving, but that legacy sets the bar so high. Being compared to the rest of the series hurts it immensely.
It's a fun game to pick up and play, and I haven't spent a dime after 300 hrs. Maybe I should at some point.

Recently got Destroys Anaheim and I'm absolutely obsessed. Obviously I'm familiar with Alive 1-3 and Unplugged, but this is such a different animal to me. It's a pure snapshot of when the band was ascending to fame and they were wild and full of fire. Absolutely astonishing to listen to.
It's quickly become my favorite live record of theirs.
Are there any other seminal live recordings of theirs that are official and I'm missing out on?
Thought I lost em, but they were safely tucked away in the wrong section of my record collection.
It's always fun seeing new fans or younger fans get so excited about getting a new album. Brings back fond memories of my first time getting those records.
For long-time fans, we've had plenty of opportunities to pick things up throughout our lives. About every 4 years you just plunk down a bit of cash for the latest record. I have kept every Depeche Mode album or single that I've ever bought over my many years and I have amassed a sizable collection with multiple versions of every album. The process is so gradual and one that I don't think is unique to just me.
Every fan I know that grew up loving the band is in the same situation. Is this a similar situation for other older fans or is this just something crazy that my circle of friends did?
Is there any way to turn off this visual garbage?
If I've disabled other players all quick drop items, why would I want to see these lines everywhere?
It's not so bad in the rest of the map, but in a smaller confined area like the stadium, it's pretty distracting. Along with the timer smack dab in the middle of the screen when you're skating community parks, this is just one of those things that I'm surprised they haven't fixed. Unless I'm missing something?

Very intrigued by the game, but haven't found any word on how the game will be monetized. I understand it's free to play, so something must cost money, correct? Cosmetics? Packs? If packs cost money, then wouldn't this be basically another version of Ultimate Team without real-life players or teams, but hopefully better gameplay?
