So, my main account was hacked months ago, and I am pretty sure I had got the account disabled due to filing a chargeback in order to do so as a last resort, Discord had refused to help since I did not write to their support with the email associated with my account (which the email also got hacked and where the breach came from). However, the hacker seemed to regain access to my account and was able to appeal that somehow. I noticed activity on my account about a month ago The profile was being changed, which I am pretty sure is impossible unless the account isn't suspended. Maybe the account was limited or was able to get it from suspended to limited? No idea.

Anyway, my friends and I decided to abuse the report system, and pretty sure we managed to get my account banned with multiple child safety violations as far as I'm aware. I had some old messages that were really great being taken out of context involving the words "minor" in them. It wasn't too long for one of us to get an email from Discord saying that action was taken from our reports. It was probably like within 2 hours of us mass reporting messages from my main account.

What I had noticed was the Nitro subscription on my main account is now just gone, There's no badge and my account's profile No longer has anything Nitro related like custom colors and whatever. it's been 3 weeks since we presumably got the account banned and nuked it with reports. I know that my Nitro subscription wasn't going to be over until later this year.

It's also been 3 months since this incident too where I had did the chargeback as well to get my account disabled initially.

So, what's going on here with my account? Because I find it odd that my Nitro subscription that Discord had just cancelled and is seemingly removed? It's also weird too, since the booster badge is still there on my account's profile. However, I do know that there's a bug that will still show the booster badge even without a Nitro subscription (though I would have no idea if my account is being affected by that bug or not).

I know as well, it's no longer a month where Discord deletes account permanently either, but it's apparently 1 year. Maybe my case is different here, and the account is getting completely terminated and deleted soon? I would really hope so if this is the case, because I want to be at peace knowing the account is permanently unrecoverable and can't be accessed by anyone else.

But yeah, does anyone have any insight here or any explanation as to what's going on here with my account? What is Discord doing with it, and if this indicates my account being in the deletion pipeline, where exactly is it at?

I guess a theory I had is maybe the account was permanently suspended this entire time from the chargeback, and the hacker wasn't able to appeal that, and instead maybe the account was limited or they were using some sort of bug or exploit to circumvent the ban to access parts of Discord with it? No idea, though. Shit is so strange to me. I just don't get why now and why the Nitro subscription on my account got cancelled. Usually, I also mostly see most people getting Nitro charged again on banned/deleted accounts and Discord isn't really known to just cancel subscriptions for you.

I've been playing a newer account when the game had went free2play just recently to know that they should be there. This account has played up until the start of Canny Valley. I am at a complete loss here.

I've tried contacting support, but to no avail. Just met with AI in their support chat telling me to write a bug report.

Am I just SoL here, or what?

Anyway, hello! I am from the US and my timezone is EST, I live over on the east coast. However, I don't mind timezones, and it doesn't really matter where you're located. I'm 30 as well, soon to be 31 this upcoming next month too.

Anyway! A bit more about myself... I love to game, my favorite game and franchise absolutely being Pokémon, so if you also love Pokémon a lot, that will be a sure fire thing that would be a big connection point for sure. I am into a lot of different games too, really. Recently, I've been playing a lot of Overwatch and I have also been playing Fortnite too. There's been Minecraft as well, I absolutely love that. A while ago I was pretty hooked on Slay the Spire 2 as well when it had came out as well, and was dabbling with modding with that as well. There's no doubt for sure that I really love games I could go on and on about all the different sorts of games that I like and have played. I really love stuff like emulation as well.

This also brings me into my next thing as I mentioned mudding, but I love to program and code. Given that as well, I am definitely quite tech savvy too. I've even built my 3rd gaming PC a few months ago, and that's been treating me well too~

There's other stuff that interests me too like exercising, I really enjoy doing stuff like yoga. I love to cook, I also really love music, and my music taste is definitely quite something as there's a lot of different music that I like to listen to. I also love writing. I've contributed to Wikipedia's before, I've written poetry, and even documentation for projects. Just writing in general I love a lot.

I also am definitely someone who can be a yapper for sure, so if you're someone who likes listening to someone else even for hours on end, then I'm your type of person. However, I also am someone who likes to listen as well, so if you are a yapper too, then that's also something that can really be of interest to me as well. You will definitely find yourself yapping together with me especially if we have some interests to share or are talking about something we both l would like for sure.

As for how open I am, I would say it varies. I definitely won't be as open with you meeting me first thing first, but depending on the vibes and how our interaction goes and just like if we connect or not is really going to dictate that. I may open up to you slow, or fast, it just really depends. None of this is to say or would be an indicator either regarding like interest necessarily either. Things could go really slow yet the interest can still really be there and you could be someone who I really will like talking to. So just keep this in mind!

If you're also someone who is into personality types, my type is also an INFJ-A, and this seems to align too with how I am as well. I guess it also explains why connecting can be quite difficult, but I never still give up trying, anyway.

I am aware just how notoriously hard they are to appeal, but what I am wanting to know is just how hard?

Has anyone had any success with appealing them? Or does anyone who if anyone has been able to appeal them and actually get an account reinstated?

Is it just next to impossible and just extremely dame rare to even appeal?

I'm wanting to know, but anyway, recently, my Discord that got hacked, but just very recently the hacker someone managed to appeal the chargeback ban on it. My account was hacked almost 3 months ago, it was definitely banned, but yeah, the hacker I noticed had regained access to it. I have no idea how, really, but I thought that would have been enough to keep the hacker off of my Discord account. The hacker didn't have access to my PayPal account where I had initiated the chargebacks with. None of the chargebacks were reversed or anything, and none of my money from those transactions made were sent back to Discord.

Maybe the hacker appealed it, and they were able to pay Discord directly the amount they lost back due to my chargebacks? I have no idea, really. I have no idea how they managed to do it.

Anyway... What I had basically resorted to now was mass reporting my Discord account by me and some friends. I had asked my partner as well to basically go digging through the DMs with my account, and I basically told them to go looking for instances where I was talking about "minors" as well as some othesr. Some stuff was pretty damning especially being taken out of context, but yeah, she ended up like reporting a bunch of messages of mine to try and get my account banned.

I had also done the same thing, reporting some messages of my account that were in my personal server, as well as some others, and some DM messages that I had with it. Reportable stuff that actually breaks ToS or could definitely be reported that can be abused with the report system where hopefully the AI moderation or whatever can flag it.

There was some good news, since my partner did receive an email not even 2 hours later. The email said this:

So, my account had definitely got clapped. What I am hoping for is obviously child safety, because yeah, I really don't want my account being used and access by the hacker, indefinitely, really.

I also read that Discord typically only sends 1 email, even for multiple reports even if they were successful. So, for all I know, my account has multiple violations for child safety right now after all the reporting, but yeah .I'm praying anyway, because I know 100% for sure that I am not getting my account back at this point, and Discord constantly refuses to help or do anything.

There isn't even a proper way to report a hacked account through their Support portal either. All I was getting back is Clyde responding in minutes, saying that I need to be writing from the original email or that they won't help not take any direct action against the account. I quite literally just copy and pasted and sent the same ticket multiple times until I had one that just stays open. Like bitch, even if I am reporting a hacked account even if it's not mine, I can't even do that? Even though, that is me knowing that someone is quite literally breaking your Terms of Service & Community Guidelines.

So yeah, fuck you Discord, and a big thanks for being fucking completely and utterly useless with your support.

So yeah, some ranting aside and whatever, I am just wanting to know if my account was banned for child safety, and is looking at multiple instanced of said violation, then is this good in my rather niche situation here? If my entire goal is just wanting my account that I've lost banned and keeping the hacker off of it. I do not care at all for my account back, I just don't want someone just having access to like 10 years worth of my personal data and sensitive data, that can also be used to cause severe and permanent damage to my life and everything. It can be used to doxx me, blackmail and extort me, and so much more worse shit that I don't even want to think about.

Discord is just fucking garbage, and it's extremely pathetic and demoralizing just how much that they do not care for the safety of their users on their platform.

So, back a few months ago my Discord account was hacked. I've told this story across several different comments on posts in this subreddit. But yeah, basically my email had got hacked and I had got locked out of it, and then the hacker had stole my Discord account due to it.

I had gone through support via different emails about my Discord account being hacked. I had provided outstanding evidence of the account belonging to me, years worth of transaction history associated with my account, despite not writing from the "original" email that was associated with my Discord account. When Discord says that you need to write from the original, that's what they mean. Not the email used to create the Discord account, which was one of the emails I had wrote to them through their support portal too. I had thought that's what they had meant, but it wasn't. They don't like to clarify shit.

Fuck you too Discord with your security reasons bullshit.

Anyway, moving on.

So, I had a Warframe account that was associated with that email that was hacked and that I was locked out of and could not access. So, my Warframe account, it had 2FA setup on it and everything, and I really though that I was definitely not going to get my shit back just thinking about just how notoriously fucking bad Discord is with not doing jack diddly fucking squat to help with this sort of shit and purposefully refusing to.

However, I had made a temporary Warframe account and had reached out to support there to see if there was anything that I could do with recovering and restoring my account. Little to my surprise, I had actually got someone there to help me with my account, and I was able to give them details to my account, and they had asked me questions that I had to answer to basically verify ownership of the account. I was able to basically get my Warframe account back and secured with a secure email, and the process really wasn't that bad at all. It was mostly pretty straight froward and the support there was pretty understanding and good.

I had just got my account back and secured earlier this evening.

Literally though, like this straight puts Discord support to absolute and utter fucking shame. The fact that I was able to get back and secure an account that I no longer had access to the email that it was associated with through other means of verification, it actually goes to show how vile and diabolical Discord is here. The fact that they even have AI plastered too all up in their support alone already says everything, but good lord.

You would fucking think Discord would help people out with hacked accounts like this, but literally not at fucking all. It's literally a complete fucking joke how bad Discord support truly and actually is.

Pretty big W for DE here, they deserve some good publicity for actually helping with account recovery and with account security issues.

I usually don't even at all have a crash out on a Reddit post of all things, but this shit has me fuming and I need to air this shit out. Fuck Discord though, I cannot WAIT until the day this platform keels over and dies and is dead in a fucking ditch.
