Based on my estimates, running infrastructure of this size could cost around $25–55+ billion per year. The biggest costs would likely be hardware replacement ($15–40B/year) and electricity ($5–9B/year), followed by maintenance, staffing, cooling, networking, insurance, and other operating expenses.
For comparison, OpenAI’s reported annualized revenue is now over $25 billion. If these estimates are close, operating costs alone could be as high as today’s revenue. To cover those costs and still achieve a 50% profit margin, annual revenue would likely need to exceed $100 billion.
