I’m considering Tesla’s extended warranty and wanted opinions now that it’s monthly instead of paid in full.
I have a used 2022 Model Y Performance with 57k miles that I bought directly from Tesla. They included the extra 1 year / 10k mile warranty with the purchase. The extended warranty would be $60/month for my car with no commitment.
Most of the info I’ve found is mixed and seems outdated from when it was ~$2k upfront. I’ve heard things like AC replacement alone costing $3–4k, and a single repair like that would easily make the warranty worth it compared to $60/month.
For anyone with experience:
Has it actually paid off for you?
Any major repairs it covered?
Does the monthly option change your opinion?
Any and all thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!
