We just took the dog to animal hospital today.I posted yesterday that our dog was diagnosed with Lyme disease a few weeks ago. antibiotics did not help. She stopped eating lost 30% of her weight. Vet today suggested that she may have a cancer. I asked her as many replief to my post to test her for Babesia. The vet doesn't agreed with that but said that can run an extra test. Did not seem to eager. We don't know what to do. We spent already 12 k and still no clue what is happening and and she is not getting better. Will she have any chance to recover after so much weigh loss or we just should give up?

I so devastated cause my brother's dog was diagnosed with Lyme disease. I love this dog and I'm crazy about her.Every time I visited my brother, she would not leave me for a second. My brother lives close to woods, and I used to take her for long walks in the park. Her favorite part of the day. Last October my brother send me a picture of the thick that was attached to her neck. It was like 3 weeks after my visit. I couldn't believe that thick can stay so long. And 5 months later she got very sick. They took her to vet and was diagnosed. She has been on doxycycline for 3 weeks now. Still not eating, very week, and has problem walking. A week ago she needed a blood transfusion it was so bed. My brother doesn't listen to me. He blames me for that. I am tpendin all my free time stydying this,horrible disease, and I think that along with Lyme she got anaplasmosis, which kills red blood cells. I think that she is not responding to oral antibiotics because it was caught very late. But vet suggested that she is so sick because of the antibiotics and as soon she stops taking them she will be fine. I think she will get only worse. I want to beg my brother to start IV antibiotics to save her. But he says that im not a vet and stop making things up. My question is, can a pet get every day IV doxycycline without being hospitalized. Please help. It's like a nightmare for me. I watch her pics and videos, and I burst into cry every single time. I will never forgive myself that she has to go though that suffer because of me....
